Issue #26, September 30th, 07

Ok - So its October already

I kept thinking, "I've got to get my newsletter out!" Then I looked and September had passed. I was going to do it last weekend, I promised myself, but it got away from me. Let me tell you why.

I am moving. That's right. You newsletter readers are amongst the first to know this news. Many of you have met my wife, Sheila at my various workshops and seminars. Well recently Sheila was offered a job to move to Porterville, California. Oh, my God! Were is Porterville?

Porterville is a farming community about 40 miles north of Bakersfield. It is about a three hour drive from Chino Hills, where we now reside. Even as I write this, Sheila is working there on a full time basis. She is the Director of Surgical Services. Basically she is the administrator for about half of the hospital. Meanwhile, I am holding down the fort getting our house ready to put on the market.

This is where the story gets me into trouble. We are "staging" our house. Staging is a technique that makes your home look like a model for a quick and profitable sale. Because the housing market is so bad, we are making every preparation to sell it in the most expeditious way possible. This means that we must de-clutter, re-landscape, repaint, fix all defects and make the place pristine before anyone steps into it.

So I have had my hips in a 30 yard dumpster and a 16 foot pod for days. When I wasn't packing and loading, I was paving the way for the next workman or contractor to arrive at my house.

So in the last 30 days we have gone through the toughest part of any move. And we haven't moved yet! Time slipped away and now I am late with this newsletter.

Anyway, you might wonder how I will manage this move. I am still teaching at the Learning Annex, seeing clients, and doing everything I did before. And none of that will change.

We will eventually move to a small mountain community in the foothills of the Sierras. At that time, I will start to move my practice, but I will still be in the Yorba Linda and Chino offices several days a week.

Then I will gradually move my practice to the Bakersfield/Visalia areas. That said, I will still be fulfilling my speaking and teaching schedule in the LA area, even after all of this is complete

We are nearing the staging deadline and by then, life will return to normal until we move. Let's keep in touch and I promise not to be tardy next time.
